Night Doctor was started by two Fremantle doctors who set out to improve the quality of medical care and customer service provided to patients in their own homes. Initially only servicing the Fremantle region, the company has since grown to cover most of the Perth metropolitan region and is now considered Perth's leading home visit GP service. Here are some reasons you should consider Night Doctor:
Our doctors provide home visit urgent care in Fremantle and the surrounding region, on weekday evenings/nights and throughout the weekend and public holidays. By looking after a large range of acute medical conditions our doctors are able to reduce burden on Fiona Stanley Hospital Emergency Department. Your doctor will call you (for free) to understand your medical problem and offer initial treatment advice and reassurance before attending for a home visit. You can be confident you are safe to wait and if necessary the doctor can refer you to alternative care (e.g. the Emergency Department) without your time being wasted or health being put at risk. Starter medications are provided meaning you don't have to attend a late night pharmacy and once your visit is complete your doctor will forward their consultation notes to your regular GP.

Our doctors are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and have experience working in the Australian healthcare system. To work at Night Doctor, they must meet strict selection criteria. Most of our doctors are either GPs or GP trainees and work in local GP clinics in the daytime. Check out our doctor profiles to learn more about them.
There is no charge for patients covered by DVA Gold or for those living in Residential or Disability Care Homes. Otherwise, a small out-of-pocket fee applies which is payable in the visit. We accept credit or debit cards and we are happy for you to pay using more than one card. Cash is not accepted. In many cases, Medicare rebates can be processed into your account during the visit. See our fees page for more information, or call to speak to our receptionist.

After 11pm there is a Medicare rebate for all patients with urgent conditions. In order to access this rebate Medicare requires the Doctor to justify that you have an urgent condition (i.e. your condition is at risk of deteriorating before 8am the next morning). The consultation must take place over a video call rather than a standard phone call.
The rebate is significantly higher than for the standard rebates. So while the total fee you pay is higher your rebate is also higher by the same amount and the out of pocket gap amount is unchanged.
Urgent Telehealth video consult after 11pm: $223.30
If the Doctor cannot justify to Medicare that your condition is at risk of deterioration before 8am, they cannot charge the urgent item and the fees for consultations before 11pm will apply instead.
Determining what is urgent is difficult, as very little guidance is provided by Medicare. Our receptionists can run your issue past the doctor prior to your consultation and can let you know if you will be bulk billed or if a fee will apply.
We understand this situation is not ideal but we are trying to do the best we can to help patients and operate within Medicare billing guidelines.
